Subject: AEA 1232 problem
To: ham-space@ucsd.edu
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has sucessfully
gotten the STEP and SCAN commands to work on an AEA DSP-1232
multi-mode controller. I am using a Yeasu FT-736R which expects
the up/dowm freq buttons to go high (+5V) when activated. The AEA unit
is designed to pull the up/down lines to ground. I have built a logic
inverter with a couple of resistors and NPN transistors but I still
can't get the doppler correction signals to work. It's difficult
to test the doppler correction except during a satellite pass. If I
am reading the manual correctly, the SCAN command should pulse the
freq control lines (that is if the SCAN command is implemented on the 1232
unit). By the way, I am using bver. 7.00 ROMs which are supposed to do
doppler correction.
Thanks in advance for any help...

Subject: Orbital Elements for the Moon?
To: ham-space@ucsd.edu
Greetings,
I was just wondering if there are orbital elements for the moon
that could be entered into a satellite tracking program. Two line
NASA format would be best. While we're at it, how about elements
for the sun?
Thanks,

I have owned both KLM and M^2. KLM is a very good quality antenna. This
past weekend I put up some M^2 antennas for Mode B. I think the materials
are very good quality, but only time will tell about the durability of
the machanical design. Also, I have an SWR problem, which I *THINK* is
related to some inherited Belden 9913 and not the antennas. You can
buy a Mode B antenna kit (including 2" fiberglass boom) from Radioware
in Mass. Includes 2 M^2 circular pol antennas. One problem: The hardware
used to mount the 435 MHz antenna includes a 1.5" U bolt, while the
fiberglass mast is 2"! The mounting plate accomodates both 1.5 and 2".
I just have to go out and buy a 2" U bolt now.

I was thinking about getting Cushcrafts AOP bundle oscar
antennas. It seems like a good deal at $250. Can anyone give
me some ideas about this? Thanks...

I have not seen this week's AMSAT Bulletins... did anyone else get
them? I was on the distribution list but never got them that way...
so hoping they would show up here. The AMSAT distributed KEPs have
hit the net... but not the bulletins.
73 for now.... c u on the shortwaves
